I'm an Airmen on a budget. I was thinkin cold air, headers, high flow cat, twin glass packs and maybe a chip. What will that do for me? I was lookin at pulley kits for my S/C but now I'm scared i'll get in too deep after readin all this. Thank you very much for this information on the superchargher though.

CAI and headers are great mods for the s/c 3800, but a smaller pulley is mostly where more power is going to come from.
Swapping out mufflers is only going to change the sound of the exhaust (stock mufflers are fine up to about 400whp), and there are no "chips" for these cars.

Keep doing your research, and start a new thread if you have any questions. I don't think that people generally check these stickies for new posts.

Hey guys.I am new to the forum. Just wanted on opinions on some mods i was thinking about adding to my 2000 Monte Carlo SS. I wanted to get 2 Magnaflow mufflers with tips,a K&N Synthaflow air filter, and I'm sure I'll find some other little things later. Just wanted to know if anyone else has Magnaflow and don't like how it sounds or whatever. Thanks.

I enjoy my Magnaflow. It was part of the GMPP kit and I am happy with it.

I would save the air filter money and get a REAL cold air intake kit. I wouldn't just swap out the panel filter.

Under my name you can check out the garage where I have a lot of info on my build.

It's a discontinued cat-back exhaust system that was made by Magnaflow for GM. But it's a full magnaflow system.

Alright, I appreciate the help man. I also was looking at headers and valve covers. I don't plan on getting too much done to the engine right now but maybe when I land a more solid job. Just some little misc. stuff to the engine and exterior.

Alright. I appreciate the help. I was looking under the hood today and realized I would have to drop the entire engine out to change the headers so I'm not getting them. Is there anything you guys suggest getting. I was thinking bout getting new coils.

Hey guys a couple more questions. I got the new Magnaflows on and I am getting a high flow cat put on Tuesday. I was looking at a new intake manifold, higher output fuel injectors, and a new fuel pump. I wouuld have to drop the gas tank for the pump right?
