It seems like my monte is like falling apart...oil pan gasket issue...water pump possible going...and now today my speedometer just decided to go absolutely crazy
Luckily I love this forum but I have a question, I did some research and is this the correct stepper motor? I see that the model numbers match but ( sent the seller a msg, they will fit my car, i plan on taking pictures when I do this )

The back lights on my IPC are either dead or sometimes working when they want to with a little help with a tap on the plastic on the front, or they want to act like a neon sign flickering.
The reason I came to this thread is I have a problem with my passlock II ? Passlock III ? it's a 2003 Monte.
The problem I am having ?
I got a battery drain, draw ? that with a fully charged battery left over night it's dead the next day so I will have to find out that problem first before I proceed but I am trying to get this car to pass inspection A.S.A.P.
I unhook the battery every day when I leave the car and when I put the cable back on the car starts and runs fine until the dreaded security battery light flashes on the message center.
The big problem now that's keeping it from passing state inspection is that the back up or reverse lights are not working when they are suppose to.
Yes, they work when the security and battery message is not flashing and the door locks work when you put the shifter into reverse, but once I get the dreaded security battery light pass lock problem the door locks stop working and the reverse back up lights stop working.
I tried one fix by someone named Dr. Zach who said to solder the black, yellow, and white female plugs onto the pass lock module, but I used a old 3 pin PC pig tail extention plug on the pass lock module.
I read somewhere else someone had a Impala that had problems and they said it's the purple class 2 data line that connects the BCM-PCM-Ignition Key, Ignition Pass Lock Mod, IPC all together and all of those components have to communicate with each other.
Was wondering in all of this is could there be a problem with the plug and pins in the connection at the IPC ? or even on the circuit board on the IPC ?
I tested with a multimeter the battery draw pulling the 60 Amp fuses, then to the driver side fuse box and the fuse for the BCM/PCM/IP cluster was causing the battery draw.
Could it be the Instrument panel cluster that could be giving me fits and problems ?
I sure hope it's not the BCM or PCM.
TSB says that the pins and connections at the BCM could casuse the problems.

What ever you do don't buy the crappy Harbor Freight soldering gun.
It only worked a few times and now I got this goo of some kind of plastic coming out from the front and the thing does not work that good.
A wasted $ 12.
I was at Micro Center last night and saw a pistol grip soldering iron/pen for $ 5.
