Default wow... why me. help?

hey guys... i was driving back on he highway today when all of a sudden, my montes cruise control lost speed... dropped about 5 miles an hour, but the cruise was still engaged. so, i pressed the break to take it off and try to figure out what just happened, and the car seems to be coasting fine, no service lights, no nothing, so i press the gas. it speeds up about 1 mile an hour a second. so i floor it, to see if it would go any faster. no luck. im a little afriad now, so I let off of the gas, turn off my jetchip and try it again, but this time it goes normal. Im thinking, ok, my jetchip is acting up, but sure enough, no, its doing it with it off too. it has a few times where nothing will be "up to speed" and my rpms litterally wont rise above 2/2.5k. I got home, turned the car off, turned it back on with the jetchip on, and it revs into the 4k off the start. I hold the break and it idles normal. any idea what is wrong? I just disconected the battery to maybe reset a few sensors and give it a fresh start... well see how that works?

Mike, my grandfather said that it could be abad speed sensor, and also to clean the throttle bodyor Replace the cruise control module.(Something else to check)[:-]
Mike, I don't know `if you Monte has
a switch on the brake pedal, but this may have become
out of adjustment that could be causing your problem.

I'll keep checking. Good Luck!

lol, well, hitch hiking by me... not such a great idea. we have some crazy people up here in my part of Wisconsin. I reconnected the battery and it seems to be working normal again, Im going to take it back out to the highway again when I got to work (or maybe when I come home... ) and see if it does it again. I have NO idea what it could be though....
