yeah it does. the exhaust manifolds on the pre 96 and 96+ look pretty much the same from at first glance... the major diff is that we have oval exhaust ports... the older ones are D shaped. for some reason they changed the bolt pattern on the rear heads in 96+ before a front manifold could be put on the rear and the opening would be on the correct side to allow to make a custom Xover... now we can not do this.

more reason to consider a 95 or older block if i do a turbo setup is in addition to the exhaust benefit, is that instead of our 9.7:1 compression they have a 9.5:1 compression which would help a bit when doing boost. i would still use the 96 cams and intake setup though.

i kinda wish that my grandmother would have picked the 97 gtp instead. the only reason she picked the monte was bc it was white and the gtp was black. but hey i guess if she did that i would have never found the mcf :/

If you want to swap in a l36 and then upgrade it why not just get an l67. Pretty much the same price and more ho then you can get the l36 to unless you boost it. Or spend a lot on it. Honestly a n/a 3800 gets walked by most traffic these days anyway.

l36 has more compression and can be top swapped or turboed down the road. plus its easier to get an l36 down here than to get an l67

You really don't want the l36 if going turbo.... L36 is great for topswap though. Moradparts is always having parts on eBay they are one of the biggest suppliers for spare parts for our cars... FYI if u need a low miles engine and trany
