6th Gen ('00-'05): Where to go?
Was wondering if anyone knew of a place I could get a L67 swap near the Wichita KS. area. Or if there is one in wichita at all. I'm getting a 2000 monte carlo ss and want it supercharged because I always wanted a supercharged car. I want it done professionally so I dont have any KR and I want to have the extra horse power to the ground. Ill also want to be able to hear the supercharger with out hurting horse power so Ill need a cold air intake for that I believe. Any info will help. thank you.
I'm not aware of any 3800 shops in KS at all. Here is a link to ZZP's recommended installers: Recommended Installers
Also, I do not recommend that you take your Monte to a "professional" for the work, because most "professionals" have never done the swap, and if they are willing, then they will charge you a LOT of money for it and there might be a lot of problems with their work. Fortunately, there's lots of info about L67 swaps, top swaps, or even ZZP's SS M90 kit, all of which will make your 3800 supercharged.
Just do a bit of research and then you will be fine.

I would just look for a supercharged monte too. Or if you just want a SC car i'm sure you could find a grand prix, bonneville or even a buick cheap. Around here they are always for sale for around 1500 to 2000. Then you could mod it up and keep the monte as a daily driver.
a grand prix or anything supercharged would be great but some good friends of mine are giving me this car with only 72k miles and I plan to keep it for a long while. I wont be able to sell it or trade it. but yea I have considered finding a supercharged car.
do alot of reading and research and then just do the swap yourself if you have the time and room and any knowledge about cars you should be fine with doing it. this is the best solution and the cheapest. plus if you do get in a pinch with something you dont know about im sure someone here can help you and give you the info you need

to mcf!
Sounds like thats my plan. Im starting college in a week and my major is automechanics so I will be able to work on this project at the school. Im sure in time I will understand how to do this and will be able to supercharge my monte. I was thinking of putting a DS in front of the SS after I was done to indicate it is supercharged. So it will stand for Daniel's Supercharged Super Sport. does that sound stupid? lol
