WHAT COLOR COOLANT ARE YOU RUNNING
ORIGINAL: wiz kidd
if your changing fluids you have to have the system completely flushed by a shop if your changing color's, i know a lot of peole changing from red to green, i've never heard of anyone wanting to go from green to red, the green is a lot safer on your gaskets and seals and everything...and its a lot cheaper too

The 96 is is runnin green and the 04still has dexcrap in it till it warms up enough to drain it and run water in it for a couple of months in the summer to make sure its all flushed out...orange and green make mud and that aint good
In my intercooler i have straight water with a bottle of water wetter. I'll switch to a 50/50 mix of coolant once winter hits again
And in the engine right now Im running a 25 coolant 75 water mix
Im using orange dex

i use to use dex cool, but now i have switched to the universal coolant that you can use with any vehicle or colored coolant. any one else use this? and if not is it ok for me to be using it or should i switch back to the GM dex cool.
Dex Cool has a rust inhibitor in it - Anything from GM with dex cool in it comes with different seals and gasket to prevent the dex cool from eating them- You would need a full flush to go back to green as if Green mixes with dex-cool it becomes almost a jelly and plugs stuff up. And never go from standard green to dex as your vehicle will not have the proper seals and it WILL eat them. You can use what they call a "all makes all models". This is like a Long Life antifreezeand lesscorosive as either of the two, also allot less cooling capacity.
