Mobil 1 full synthetic in my 05. I use conventional oil (usually Penzoil) in my 03 because I only put about 1000k miles on it a year.

Synthetic is best, but the main thing is to CHANGE IT REGULARLY, conventional or synthetic (synthetic having longer intervals, of course). Most of us on any automotive forum are already smart enough to do that.

Just another opinion...The serious gear heads at my performance shop run Castrol or Penzoil 10W30... They are of the opinion that Synthetic is a huge waste of money... They reason that regular oil changes (and they mean - REGULAR!!!) are more than enough, and that if you do decide to go Synthetic there is no added benefit, a greater expenditure, and a full flush is required... Don't know, but these guys build and run some seroius machines including one seriously mean 4th gen Monte...

i don't use anything but AMSOIL I am a strong believer in synthetic oils but in reality as long as you keep up with your oil changes any oil is fine to use

I personally run conventional in everything, but change it regularly. Synthetic supposedly frees up a horsepower or two (I'm sure there are dyno charts somewhere online), so that's the only reason I said it was best.
I've also seen too many 200 or 300,000 mile engines that lived on conventional oil all their lives to believe the hype that your engine won't last unless you run synthetic.
Bottom line, I'm also a believer in regular oil changes.

I agree with you KJRich. Just look at Shawn Mayes from Clubgp. 385whp Grand Prix GT and the oil that he used was the cheapest Wal-mart brand whatever was on sale oil, and his stock block held up for 264k miles before it snapped a rod.

Honestly, I just make sure that I keep up with my oil changes. If synthetic is on sale, I buy it. If not, I buy conventional.

I've always ran Castrol GTX in all of my cars.. Never has failed me. Or you could get Royal Purple thats about as best as you can get.

Well, this is kinda a touchy subject because every has their own opinion about different kinds of oil. I go with Pennzoil because it has active cleaning agents. Call me a sucker for "false advertising" or what have you, I believe it works and I'm always up for a better cleaned engine. (my English teacher would shoot me lol)
