I used Valvoline Dextron VI full synthetic tranny fluid in mine and a filter from Autozone. I re-used the original pan gasket since it is re-usable. I used about 7.5 qrts.

when i did mine i did it twice because you cant really get the fluid out of the torqu converter unless you do it on good intervals any way. i used dexVI in mine my manuale called for the dexIV i put in the dexVI. after i did it i noticed a better mpg i noticed most dont do it any way and end up with trans problems down the road

I guess this is the best thread to ask,

What, if any additives would you guys recommend for the tranny.
Would Lucas transmission fix be a good "just in case" preventative?

I also just bought some Valvoline Dexron VI synthetic tranny fluid i'll be swapping.

Don't use ANY additives. Just using Dex 6 is enough.

It's engineered to run cooler and not break down as much when it gets warm. Which is the number 1 killer.

Just try to keep regular flushing intervals now

x2 i agree with chibi (mike) what i did when i did mine was let it sit for about two to four hours to let all the fluid drip out then button it up and fill it.i am allways a stickler that way
