Default Two Transmission Questions, 6th Gen 3.4L??

hey guys two quick question,

dunno if this is or has happened to anybody here but my transmission is shifting hard, not quite like a failed transmission would shift but if i stop and start moving again it'll move about 10-20ft then the first gear would jerk or sometimes it shutters/vibrates. the car is already in gear it not like its slipping into 2nd but it does that in first. and when that happens only sometimes it shifts hard into all gears as you could feel the car shifting from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and finally 4th. its not the transmission itself that is bad (i know for a fact) because other times it would shift perfectly normal just like it was brand new, not a single bump, no hesitation, vibration, hard shifting or any of that.
i'm 75% guessing its the transmission shift solenoid and 25% possible the Torque converter itself is giving out.... any idea's?

second question is, should i change my transmission oil? i don't know how long its been since it's been changed but at-least two years and/or 50k miles ago. should i or should i not, i'm afraid it'll seize the transmission all together if i change the oil.
and if i do change it should it just be an oil/filter change or can i purge it too?

I'd greatly appreciate all answers to any of those questions.

when doing fluid for a higher miles trany i would not do a flush. just drop the pan and use the new Dex VI

a thing to look at is the vac modulator on the trany. its possible you have a vac leak and this is causing a hard shift. either a vac leak at the trany vac modulator or somewhere on the intake itself.
