Default Trying to turbo

Hey I recently picked up a 07 Monte Carlo LT(yes instead of the v8 ss) and I’m trying to add some significant power. I’m looking to either add a single turbo or possibly a twin setup but I’m not seeing any type of kits anywhere. I’m just trying to see if anybody could help me if they’ve done something like this , thanks

I honestly don't recall anyone with a 2006-2007 v6 doing a turbo setup. You might be into experimental territory.

It's likely going to be a custom job, as there aren't many aftermarket parts available for the 3500 or 3900 as far as I know. That being said, adding a turbo will definitely make your transmission cry for mercy.

There are no kits out there.

A turbo setup isn't particularly difficult for a fabrication shop though - you can have them generally follow what has been done for the 3800s (ie cut the crossover to add a turbo flange, block / loop the DP exit (to force the rear exhaust back up the crossover), construct a new downpipe, add cold side piping.

Won't be cheap though - if you dont do any of the labor, I imagine you'll be in it for at least 100% of the value of the car (especially when you add the other stuff - fuel system mods, bov, WG, boost controller, and tuning it is supported by HPTuners software).

I wouldn't bother with twins either. It adds cost and complexity, and space will be tight enough as it is. Just make sure you have someone familiar with turbo specs pick a good size / ratio for your engine and goals and it'll spool up just fine / make all the power your transmission can handle.

You mentioned adding significant power - what is your goal? If its not too lofty, you may be much cheaper off just getting a v8 SS.
