Called aamco and they said at least 6-700 to drop the tranny. Crap lol. I'm going to look into doing it myself.

What's weird is that it only happens when it's cold. Not 1 drop when it's running or when it's warm.

Could the problem be from over filling it? I think my fluid level is high.

Overfilling it could have caused the seal to go bad.

It's possible, but no fluid should be leaking past the seal at all. If your level is high that would explain why it only leaks when it sits overnight. When it's running a portion of the fluid is circulating through the tranny and cooler which lowers the level in the pan. When it sits the fluid drains back into the pan and raises the level. It would have to have a lot of extra fluid though to raise it enough to seep from the seal. You might reduce the amount that is leaking by correcting the fluid level, but the seal (and whatever caused it to fail) is still going to need attention.

I'm going to check the fluid when its hot. If its too high i'll drain some out. If that solves the problem god bless, if not im just going to keep topping off w/e the fluid loss is. The transmission has to go at some point since i'm doing a 350 swap with a 700r4 trans in the near future.

I called a few shops, and most of them said about a 1000 and aamco was out of their mind for doing it for only 700. I called 2 local shops down in my town, one is called northborough transmissions and one is called graves trans repair, the graves trans repair said itll be 500 labor plus parts, the northborough trans said itll be around 500 for labor, parts inluding the seals and the bushing.
