Hey guys, I got a problem I cant figure out. The trans will run thru 1st and as soon as it goes into 2nd, right away it goes into 3rd, stays in 3rd for about a second and a half then goes back down to 2nd. Now, it only does this while under moderate to heavy load (Speeding up quick or flooring it). If im at highway speeds and i go to pass another car, ill put the gas down and before it goes into 2nd it has to do its second and a half in 3rd before going into 2nd. So, instead of going from OD to 2nd, it goes... OD... 3rd... 2nd. But the gas is down enough to go right from OD to 2nd. Is all that understandable?? If not just ask me whatever. Theres no jerking or any other symptoms of anything thats actually wrong.

OD isn't a gear. You have 4. Overdrive means it will try to push the car to the highest gear as early as possible for MPGs.

Your car shouldn't go from 4 > 2 unless you are tuned and have a skip-shift in that PCM.

It could be your TQ Converter starting to crap out?

 

Whens the last time u had filter and fluid change?.....Just curious....

Does it sometimes shift hard like it has a shift kit?.....intermittenly?....

Even though it doesnt? or does it?

I would take it to your local trans shop and have it checked out for sure....(if you can find 1 you trust )

 

havnt changed in 100k almost. it never shifts harder than normal.
And chibi.. Im not sure what you mean by that. When you're crusing at highway speeds and your running maybe 1800rpm, when you floor it, it doesnt go straight down to 2nd? Since ive had my car, as long as i was going under 86 and put the gas down, it goes right into second in a split second. Im just trying to understand this you know?

 

Yeah its got a shift kit in it.
