I agree, with the effort to change the trans out, swap those lower mounts (uppers can be done at any time).

Nice to see you moving forward with this George, yeah if your not running your car to hard, might as well get a basic tranny rebuild. I would for sure get a new tranny nd lower engine mount. OEM would be just fine.

Yippee, jacks getting a new tranny, F'n A. Your Monte's calendar picture looks awesome...

Hay Goerge, Happy 2015!
So, in order to replace the trans, they have to remove the Engine Cradle. So, your Stabilizer bar and Control arms have to come down. You know I recently had my Trans done. Now I am regretting not thinking about this same thing when it was about to be done. My left side control arm bushing are shot and I am putting in a new arm with all new bushings. At the least I would say to have anything with bushings, that has to be taken down to get to the trans, checked!
Ball Joints, tie rods ends, trans mount, lower engine mounts, stabilizer bar, control arm, all of this should be checked at least. Then, if any need replacing, there should be no extra charge because all these things have to come down anyway! If they take the control arms off, and you have new ones with bushings to put in, there is no extra labor charge, just the cost of the parts.
On mine, I got new trans and lower motor mounts and the passenger side cv axle, all with no extra labor cause they had to be removed to get the trans out. And I needed them Bad! I just wish I had thought about the above mentioned parts then.
