Do not buy the cheap $50 ones off eBay. There is a reason Autozone sells fuel pumps for $200. That's how much a good one is, should have posted this about a week ago I had an extra that was for my 2000 Monte that I sold. Brand was whatever Autozone sells

i could be wrong but i dont think the pump is the thing reading how much fuel is in the tank, there's a different sender in there.

Either your stepper motor in your cluster is bad, or the Fuel Sending Unit went bad. It's not your fuel pump.

My FSU is bad, but I just go by the tripometer and fill up every 200-300 miles (I usually never let it get below half a tank normally)

I would bet that its your sending unit thats bad. Personally, if I was going to replace the sending unit, i'd spend the extra and replace the fuel pump too, especially on an 02. But the sending unit itself should fix your fuel readings.

Sounds like a sending unit, my GM van I had before the monte did the same thing where the gauge would bounce around.
