yeah it is pretty good for a car in a mild climate. OR if you dont mind not having real hot heat in teh winter you can run one also .

If you live in a hot climate then a colder version like a 160-180 would be better to help keep teh motor runnign cooler.

jus tlook at it this way Heat is a Enamey of your motor the more you can take out with out screwing up the internals of the computer the better you are.
this can be done threw the T-stat, threw a vent under the hood etc.... the lees under hood heat for the motor to run in the better it is for you and the cars

the 160 is too cold. even for moderate to heavy mods... back in the day before tuners people used them to fight engine Knock with the SC cars, but now with the tuners and fan controlers they arent needed. and most 2000+ cars will set an engine light with a 160* stat. the car thinks its not warming up correctly and will set a code.

bottom line is the 180 is fine. i personally run a 180 stat and have my fan times adjusted. in the florida heat! even in traffic my car is about 185* max. and when driving its about 176* basicly the target coolent temp is 175-190 for most engines. the higher temp will be better on gas and emissions, but wont reduce as much Knock and cause more heat soak. (which reduces peformance)

Thansk for the info on that one Like you said I used to use the 160's in my old motors to help fight the heat i had with them in there.

But glad to knwo tha thte 180 is the limit on this one.

But have to find one that is drilled if i can or do it myself just been a while since i drilled one and cant remeber how big of a hole to put in them.
