surging in 4th, and rarely in 3rd. I'm stumped!

Hopefully it keeps it working, if you go past 2 weeks without problems, consider yourself lucky!
Keep in the back of your mind though that the MAF sensors aren't cheap, and you may need to buy one in a month, so if you don't have the money now, kind of put a little away for now

Well I'm officially out of luck. It started up again today, and as usual after disconnecting the maf it stopped. . As for the gentleman above me. I was concerned myself for my TC so I took it to a tranny shop, who are specialist in domestics. I gave them some info and they looked at it. They told me it was not the TC for it was not consistent enough and most likely a coil. Now that still doesn't sound right to me. Is there anymore accurate tests I can do to eliminate the coil/MAF.

Is it a factory tune? It the tune was messed with for the trans (shift pressure, shift speed etc) it could male this happen as well. If not I say it sound like a ballooned tc still. I very well could be wrong thou lol

OK just got back from the trip and it failed. The surging picked up again. I was finally able to get videos. I am sorry how crappy they are this is the best camera I could get my hands on so far. This was after I installed, a new MAF, 2 new coils(the third one was bad ), and new al606 plugs.
Again sorry that it is so bad, once it starts the buck it does bump you around a bit but if you look closely you can see how it fluctuates.

I'm surprised no one has sugested to seafoam the old girl in my opinion it may be a sick engine that needs a good tune and a seafoam maybe a tranny fluid change it doesnt seem all that sick but since you have automatic overdrive if its down enough on power as with a cat problem the computer will be in what the f mode trying to decide on a gear because maybe it should be in 4th but it is too sludged up to turn the rpm. This happened with Lola in her first month of being started up after 3 years and sitting for 5 or it could very well be a failing pump

(99 Buick Regal GS)
So did I but alas
What I've replaced:
VSS
fuel filter
Al606 plugs/duralast wire set
transmission fluid/ filter
transmission lines
all rubber vacuum lines
Cold air intake
injectors cleaned/ by running about 20 tanks with marvel
sea foamed and marvel upper engine cleaned.
been running synthetics oil
2/3 coils
MAF
front hub assembly(passenger side)
that's all I can think of so far.
The Cat is on its way out, took it to one shop and we hit it and it rattles however no codes nor has it yet to affect flow. (accelerates fine) took it to another shop to get its back pressure tested, they told me its unlikely that the cat is causing my problems and didn't do the test. Followed up to a transmission shop, and they said the lack of consistency was unlikely to be a transmission problem. However its starting to be come more consistent. Now it does it whenever I have been driving the car for some time on certain roads. for example, can drive road A all day no problem, but when I drive road B every time it does it after about 30 mins or 15 miles.
Can tell you one thing for sure, I am missing my monte more and more.....
