Default Surgeing on acceleration

My 93' surges when ever I go to accelerate. I am guessing it might be fuel related (Fuel injectors or Fuel pump. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check or how to check them? Has anyone had a problem similar to this. This has been happening for a while, so I dont think it is a fuel quality issue, although it is winter here in Minnesota. Any help would be much appreaceated! Thanks!

Seem to run alright at a constant speed!

Your '93 what? Lumina, Regal, Grand Prix?

Might help if we knew some more specifics about the car, such as make, model, and engine. Also, knowing the mileage can help with diagnosis.

Aside from that, if you think you are having fueling issues, I'd start with the fuel filter on a car that old. If the car is pretty high mileage and still running the original filter, that could be a culprit. Otherwise, best of luck.

x2 on the fuel filter, that could end up being a cheap and easy fix

I guess since this is a Monti Carlo Forum, I just assumed you would know that it is a Monti Carlo. The car has a 3.0 engine in it and has about 70,000 miles on it. I do not have a manual for it right now, so where is the fuel filter located? By the tank, inline, or by the engine?

But the Monte Carlo wasn't made between 89-94.

The last 4th Generation Monte was in 1988, and the Fifth Generation started in 1995.

So to have a 1993 model is very rare?

This is an interesting thread, lol. I want to see how this turns out.

Also, the Chevy Monte Carlo never had a 3.0L engine.

I'm confused.. fuel filter would be down by the tank sort of on the side of the body.

do you have pics?

If its a 5th Gen Monte ( 95-99 ) then the filter would be on the drivers side right below the door on the framerail. You can see it if you jack it up. Its between the door and rear tire area.

Nor was the Monte even made in '93. Hence my confusion.
Maybe you have a 2-door 93 Lumina, and somebody rebadged it with Monte Carlo badges?

Sounds like an interesting car either way, I'd love to see pics as well.

Correct, but the year issue was already stated so I didn't repeat it. But even if someone did put Monte Carlo badges on it, it still wasn't a 3.0. Lumi's back then were only available with a 3.1L or a 3.4L LQ1.

Also, this is unrelated, but the smallest engine ever offered in any Monte Carlo ever was the 3100 v6 from 95-99.
