WOAH!!! Before you slap on that pulley, you need to scan first!!!

I can't stress how important this is and most new people break their engines over time by just slapping on the pulley.

Your best bet is to get either a cheap LS1M scanner, a more expensive programmer, or better yet find someone near you that has one already and have them scan it. There are plenty of people in Ohio that have scanners. Just a matter of finding them.

Even stock there are quite a few of these engines that have KR (knock retard)if you apply too much you will start to chip pistons and evenetually crack one. Stock is typically 0-2*. Anything over 5* is risking it. I currently have 7* with all the mods you see in my signature and most people would guess I should have zero. I'm just glad I scanned before I started racing with it otherwise I would be getting a new engine. =< I've even heard some of the 3800 Supercharged cars that simply need to get an intercooler to get rid of the KR. Some of these engines are just better than others.

At the very MINIMUM if you choose not to scan, you need: Cold Air Intake, U-bend delete, 3" downpipe, 180* T-Stat,and 1 range colder plugs like Autolite 104's.

Also remember there is still a chance that you have engine problems even with these mods. Once again if you look at mine where I have rockers, headers, and a full catback exhaust that help lower KR more I can still blow my engine.

Everyone hates getting a scanner firstas we all want that instant power, but even going to a 3.5 pulley is dangerous without knowing what the car is doing right now. Don't be that guy.

I dunno how I missed this one...

I'm gonna end up putting a 3.6 pulley on mine, along with supporting mods, and scan the hell out of it. If I am experiencing no Knock, then I am going to buy myself my HP tuners and drop to a 3.4

If I were you, I would do the same thing.. do it slowly, and safely...

i would say invest in a MPS modular pully system its about 100 and comes with one pulley but later you just pull 5-6 screws and you change the pulley very fast.

i have a MPS for sale right now its mounted to the SC's snout and comes with a new 3.4 pulley. PM me if interested.
