Supercharger for 1999 LS
Well, I had a 1996 3.8 LS, but it got totaled so I got a 1999 3.1 LS and I can really tell the difference in performance. I am looking for my engine to be more powerful. I was wanting to supercharge it and was wondering about price and where I could have it done or buy the parts to do it myself.

There are 128,882 miles on my car. I'm looking for performance mods I can apply to add power. I don't know much about mods but I can put about anything into my car if it has instructions. I also would prefer not to have to have to do too much to keep the performance mod running. My car runs pretty well no problems.

welcome to the forum man. I'm in the same boat as you are. I have a 3.1 and want more performance out of it. Problem is, is that other then dropping in an L67 ( 3800 SuperCharged ), your going to be stuck with limited performance.
You can either do a Top Swap, drop in a 3400, do a 3400/3500 hybrid, or install a turbo. Either way, your looking into ALOT of money. I'm having trouble just finding someone around here to drop a 3400 into it. I'd do it, but i dont have the place to do it at ( i live in an apt ).

Welcome to the infamous 3.1 un-modified engine of joy :P
It's a gas-sipper, not a horse-tipper :P
You will not find much you can do with your current set-up. Sorry, but enjoy the Monte none-the-less

That is your best bet for performance mods for the 3.1. IMO I wouldnt waste the money trying to make the 3.1 powerful. You are just setting yourself up for dissapointment. I agree with either a L36, L67 or 3400 swap. The 3400 swap would be easiest. A 3400 with the 3500 top swap would be your best bet for performance and ease of install. You really wouldnt have to change much at all to get the 3400 to work in your car.

Yeah, I remember seeing a remote mount MP90 with a super long snout that mounted kinda where the airbox is, and had it dump into a manifold, which got piped into the TB. I want to say RSM sold it, and its was like $4k+? Could be wrong though...

I looked into it a little bit, (didn't find the aftermarket vendor name, so RMS it may have been)......
I guess Pontiac was considering doing a supercharged Grand Am in 2000, but it never went through.
That setup made its way to the aftermarket, so there were kits made.
They are apparently highly coveted among the Grand Am crowd, and still sell for big bucks.
Supposedly they pop up on Ebay sometimes.
It'd probably be cheaper and more convenient for the OP to do an L67 swap though.
