supercharged???

RE: supercharged???
Turbo, yes. Supercharger, yes. But you got to have DEEP pockets for the supercharger, as I'm not sure it's ever been done. Go thw turbo route.
And as far as the search engine, it doesn't work since the crash last summer. Use Google, and use the advanced feature which allows for searching within a particular domain site, and type in montecarloforum.com

RE: supercharged???
If you are dead set on keeping your 3.4 dohc and you are dead set on supercharging it, then there are 2 ways.
The first, and easiest, is to do a centrifugal supercharger (basicallythe intake side of a turbo with a pulley on the back instead of the exhaust side). You'd need to find a place to mount it (probably could relocate your pcm and do it there, or redo your intake and put it where your filter box is now), then you'd just need to find a way to get the accessory belt to spin it. The intake plumbing should be cake after that.
The second is to do like a guy from mymonte did. He remove the upper intake manifold, made an adaptor plate- and mounted a positive displacement M90 off an L67 to it. The install this way would be much harder than a CSC, and the real problem is that pretty much all of his blower stuck through the hood.

RE: supercharged???
yeah that kid with the m90 on the Z is one of my good friends... i am the one doing the tuning for it aswell. there are plenty of bugs left to tune out. the best way to boost this engine is via turbo. it is much cheeper in the long run.

some of the major issues he has run into are things like belt slip, the smaller main crank pulley being much smaller on the dohc engine, visual clearance due to the SC and even less with the addition of an intercooler! the custom adapter plate was a PITA im sure.
we are trying to tune around it, but the SC kills the already low rpm tq to nada. but once it starts to spool and build boost its a little over powering... so it makes launching it very difficult at the track.
bottom line its a lot more work then with a turbo. and you deff need someone who knows how to tune well to get things in order.

RE: supercharged???
you should try to find a wrecked (new body style 2000-2005) in the back end monte (or grand prix) and take everything you need from that and put it in yours, thats probably the easiest thing to do
