I was looking at going with NGK platinum. Just wondering how they blew a hole threw the cylinder? Were the wrong spark plugs used?

wow old thread. not sure how any plug would put a hole in a cylinder! i can see if the wrong length plug was used it could punch a hole in a piston... but no in the cylinder wall or anything.
iridium plugs are great for NA as it can focus the spark tighter cause the electrode is smaller then a plat tip. my DOHC didnt care for them. worked great on Autolite single plat plugs.

That's what I'm looking at going with on my 3.4L. I've read of some problems on other engines with the pucks falling off on the AC/Delco platinum plugs.
And since some were buying AC/Delco plugs for the 3.4L just to find they were NGK. I figure might as well go NGK since they are half the price of AC/Delco. And the NGK should be a solid plug. As AC/Delco are always shopping for the lowest bidder. So, the maker of their plugs are always changing.
