hey everyone i just bought a shift kit for my car and i am sure a few of you have installed these and was wondering what you set the firmness at and how it feels when it shifts i dont want to tear anything up but i want firm shifts and i dont want to drop the pan several time tring to get i right and suggestion fron those who have done this would be appreciated


oh its a thrasher kit

hello,
this is the same kit i installed on my 98 monte z34. i set mine to the maximum firmness. i love it!!! however, it depends what your taste is like. you may or may not like the maximum firmness that it provides to you. it does shift pretty firm. as for tearing up your trans, with this kit you won't. this kit helps prolong clutch life due to the firmness, because the clutches are not slipping.

are these the kits that make your exhaust sound better giving it more of the sound that you would get with a manual transmission?

i was just wondering how the installation went on this and DESS03 did you like the way it felt and could you tell any difference because i think that this is going to be my next upgrade for my car.

dess i have the one in my car set to med. and wish i went high with it .
to me not enough . but i do have the thrasher kit to put in mine there for plans are to do it when i get back (they packed it on me) i also plan to go to the firm setting .

my bro has his set on firmest and i had my pcm reprogrammed to change the firmness and his shifts alot firmer just fyi but dont mix the 2 heard of some bad bad things happening with that

yeah if ya mix them it can tear the pumps up in the tranny.
the other thing i have ehars is it will mess with the soinoids in there.

but i bet it would shift real hard with it LOL
