Default Running into transmission issues

Hey guys, so today I got up early to go and have my car inspected and go have it re-registered. So I backed out like I normally do and when I put it in drive I gave it some gas and it reved almost like it was in neutral and then it slammed into gear and started going forward. And then when I got up to the light up by my house it did the same thing where I gave it gas and nothing happened and then it slammed into gear and started moving forward. I'm going to be getting a TEP trans so I could care less if this one goes out, I just don't want it to go out while it's still in my car. Any ideas on how to prolong the life of it for another couple months until I can get a TEP trans? The trans fluid was changed about 10 months ago.

The filter was changed as well, could it be time for a new one anyway? And I will check the trans fluid tomorrow as well. Thanks

Sounds like low fluid level to me. How does she shift into the other gears? Are they hitting Hard too?
I can't wait to get my income taxes. Those $$$ will be invested in a TEP Trans for my car too. Till then, I did a fluid and filter change with a quart of Lucas Trans Fix. It helped. Not 100% But at least it was better than it was before!

It actually shifts perfectly fine which is why low fluid level didn't come into my mind. But I will check that before I go to work today.

Try some sea foam (I think that's what its called) trans tune, iv heard it helps, it doesn't thicken the fluid like others. It didn't harm my transmission when I tried it and stopped my stuttering from a start.
