Default rough starts

hey guys, id say every 1 out of 3 or 4 times my car gives a real rough start. Makes the same sound like when you try to turn your key when the car is already started. Is this sparkplugs? bad timing? starter? the sound only lasts a second or two but kind of embarrassing when you go to start and it sounds like grinding metal.

The starter might be sticking .. need to get underneath it and remove the flexplate cover and inspect the teeth on the starter and flexplate to see if there is any damage.

also the starter might be lose on the mounting. if it has not done this in the past then all of a sudden started doing it then make sure it is still tight. \
\if it is or a new one then it might need some shims to make it stop that.

Not enough info about the car, but I would hit the basics: check plugs to make sure not fouled, verify wires secured, make sure air filter is clean. Swap out the fuel filter as you probably haven't ever done it to the car. and we will take it from there.

Also run some STP fuel injector cleaner through it as well.
