5th Gen ('95-'99): radiator fans not working?

update
Well, I got the ever elusive temp sensor replaced and no help. D**n that thing is difficult to get to. I don't think it could be worse. So, I suppose next step is PCM given the A/C doesn't work either and it controls both. Does the PCM actually fail and if so what would be my other symptoms and do I really have to take it to the dealer to set that thing up? Thoughts anyone?

the factory settings in the PCM for fan turn on temp is very high. a 1998 Z34 fan #1 will turn on at 222.83* F and turn off at 219.17* fan #2 will turn on at 230* F and off at 226.41* F.... also although the pcm has settings for the fan to run when the engine is off, the timer is set to 0 factory to remove it.
a new stock PCM will not fix this. you need someone with a tuner to reprogram the turn on temps so they work.

Excellent reply. Thank you! The fans actually are working when the guage is between 5/8 and 3/4 on the dial, whatever temp that is. The fans run until the temp drops to about 5/8 then go off. Seems to me like the temp is a little hot at this point. The temp hovers between 3/8 and just below 1/2 on the dial when the car is moving. I think this seems more like it. Now I'm wondering if the radiator is just not getting the job done. Thoughts anyone?

thats what i was going to sugest to help get what ever is in there out and be able to have a peace of mind. not just that not to worrie about what ever gunk is in the radiator or in the head waterjackets. i usually do it about twice a year due to the warm climetin fl and dont want anouther head or water pump problem
