I realize it is obvious and pretty basic, but you are turning the key to the ON position after plugging the scanner in, right?

 

you may want to check the port on the car. My old car had a few corroded tabs on it. Just a thought.

 

yea i turned the car on.. it still said no data link.. and i will check the tabs on the plug in

 

one of two things is the bcm is getting ready to take a dump or the obd II conection is needing to be cleaned. mine did the same thing and then the bcm finnally took a dump. be very carefull and treat it as a tuchy thing because it can be going with out any warning than what you have.

 

and thats the one in the trunk right

 

The Body Control Module is under the dash in an 04. I'm not sure about the 03 but i think its the same.

ok cool.. one more thing.... while im on it.. my bro has the car in okl so i cant check it right now... but his wheel hub making a ****ty sould like something engadging and getting stuck... from the drivers side... and the abs light shoot on and stays on also traction device messing up too all can be caused by bcm?
