Default Performance Chip in a 3800?

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Edition and i was wondering if buying this performance chip and installing it would make a noticeable increase in performance/gas mileage. Also if it would damage the car in any way. Here's the link to the site.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Chevrolet - AutoChipsDirect.com : The Leader in Automotive Performance Modules!

Any help would be appreciated. Im just looking for a cheap way to get more power or gas mileage out of my car. Theres also this site

http://www.jetchip.com/Shop/shopdisp...ppp=10&catID=1
Probably just the thermostat from this site

Thanks!

PCMforless

This is where I had my computer reprogrammed. I bought a second PCM so I could just swap it out.

ZZ performance has a pcm that you can customize for your needs for short money and alot cheaper than a chip. I think it is about 125 plus tax and you return your core you get 75 so about 200 return core = about 125 and there prod is pretty good

I wouldn't get ZZP I've heard of issues with them.

Like SSmokey said, I sourced a spare PCM for my car and shipped it to PCMforLess. They did a great job with it.

As for these "plug in" PCM solutions, I have not heard anything about them.

what are the issues that you have heard of ZZP. with the pcm you will not have sensor prob when you change exhaust to custom . As far as a chip mileage i get it but up to 80hp i don't beleive that and what sort of engine do have that is all i got for now .but I would like to about the probs with ZZP because I was thinking getting one

Chips are knockoffs. A real tuned PCM will gain you 10 HP or so.

If you can send your original PCM in to ZZP to get flashed that would work the best. For some reason the Montes are kinda touchy when it comes to reprogramming their pcms hence you will need to do a security re-learn so the car and re-recognize it. I don't think it's a ZZP problem.
