Opposed to DIY? Used Powrtuners are pretty cheap nowadays. Would definitely be cheaper than paying a shop for tunes on both, but of course that's if you've got the desire and time to learn.

Yes, I bought a Powrtuner back when they were still sold new. Dont get me wrong - there's a good bit of reading/ learning involved if you've never done it before, but it makes sense in some cases. The nice thing is being able to continually update the tune as you mod further, and being able to dial in the tune for your exact car (vs a generic canned tune that needs to work for all cars).

TBH. I wish I would've bought HPTuners from the start as I got a lot more into LS stuff and it works for a lot more applications, but for just 3800 stuff, it's hard to be a ~$100-150 Powrtuner.

Oh, sorry I think I mislead you a bit with the way I worded it. I was just suggesting you pick up a used powrtuner to do the tuning yourself as itll likely be cheaper than buying 2x canned pcms, have better results, and gives you the ability to make as many changes as you want for new mods for free.

The 3800 is pretty basic to tune. Not really all that much to really do for it, it's very much just based on the engine running correctly and having the MAF adjusted properly for modifications, and getting the transmission to shift better.

If you don't want to buy software and learn yourself, definitely worth it to just buy a simple canned tune from ZZP and run your cars.

You'll notice a huge change in driveability right away. Just in the transmission changes.
