p0751 and p0753
HI, new hear and have been searching around and havnt found the answer im trying to find..
I just picked up an 04 monte carlo ls... 3.4 with 4t65e. getting codes P0751 and P0753 both. runs and drives great other then fact that it seems to be starting in 2nd gear and has no 4th gear at all. for the most part the 2-3 shift is smooth.. once and a while it has a very small harsh jump when going from 2 to 3.. but that is 1 out of 50 times ... fluid looks and smells fine ( not to say that previous owner didnt change it before selling it. they just said they think tranny is bad)
does this sound like possible bad solenoid? or electrical issue ... or the worse needing a new tranny. I have no issue tearing into it to change solenoids etc, but never further then that with tranny..
anyone that can point me in right direction on what maybe to do to correct issue without a rebuild please let me know.
thanks....

It sounds like the transmission is operating in 'limp' mode because there is a problem with the 1-2 shift solenoid. It could be a problem with wiring, but with the long track record of solenoids failing in these transmissions chances are the solenoid itself needs to be replaced.

so, is it possible to just replace solenoid and not the harness in tranny? or just get all solenoids and harness and just replace all of them. like i said, other then the issues described... it shifts great....car was well taken care of by previous owner who bought it new...
