Make sure there isn't any debris left in there, also make sure you have the O-rings on it aswell.

Did that. Still dripping but that might be from when I removed the elbows and coolant came out. Everywhere. Now there is a drip from the drivers side. I see some sitting on top of the tranny under the crossover pipe. I know my thermostat is leaking but this is coming from somewhere else... Also, how I keep the thermostat housing from leaking? The gasket is on right and fitted tight. Looks like it may need the paper gasket as well but autozone says i dont need it...

I take that back I guess I didnt get it in there good enough its leaking worse than before... :l

Are you getting any 'check engine' codes regarding to the T-Stat?

Worst case scenario, I would replace the t-stat, also, what about the cooling hoses that run top/behind the engine, could those be leaking?

Nope no cel. I had the zzp drilled stat but I swapped back bc it took forever to warm up in the mornings. No those 2 hoses arent leaking. It almost looks like its from somewhere on the block under that crossover pipe. There is a copper looking 1 inch line with swirls around it right above the mess.
