Default Opinions??

Well I need to make some decisions on what to do with my 04 SS. Most of you know what happened to my engine. So I am thinking of selling all the parts and upgrades I have and swapping in a LS4. But looking into the LS4 there really are not to many upgrade options besides exhaust and one turbo kit. I mean my engine put more power to the wheels than than a stock LS4 and that is before all the stuff I have to add to it. So my question is should I stick with what I have a build my L67 or swap it for the LS4?

Yea that is what I am kind of leaning towards even though it is going to cost me double than the swap would. haha

I agree with John keeping it a 3800.
Looking forward to your pics/progress.

Progress is at a stand still since the next step would be getting the block checked then milled and honed and then forged internals. Plus still need the heads and trans. I feel like it's going to take a few years.

You need to swap all of the electronics, harnesses, gauges, etc from an LS4 car just to run it in your car.

Worth it to just stick with the 3800

IMO buy another good engine and if you want put heads and cam in a known good engine.... I would not mess with forged internals in the bottom end (zzp made tons of hp on stock bottom end) all in all the swap wont cost a whole lot if you do the labor yourself

True I hear the forged internals can cause some issues here and there. But the main reason for considering the swap is because I found a full drop out LS4 with wires/trans/ and just about everything for 2300. But yea I could find a used L67 and just do a quick rebuild and take the cam and stuff off my engine now and put it in on that one.

could always get a L32 and use that bottom end too. but i think the oil pans would need changed iirc. but like said get low miles 3800 vs a full rebuild cheaper and better.

you can use the l32 oil pan as well but you will have to trim the engine mount a little to clear the oil pan, very easy fix.
