go to the dealer for oil changes when my olm gets to about 20% or even less.

 

I change mine with nothing but Mobil 1, and I wait until the OLM pops up on the dash and say "CHANGE OIL SOON"...my selling dealer told me to change it at 20%, but that was assuming using conventional oil...i'm using synthetic.

My OLM displays the message every 7-9K all depends on they way i've driven....

And when I change it, the oil is still a golden brown...plus I have looked inside my valve covers with a flash light, and my valve springs along with the surrounding area is spotless...nothing but shiny metal...

 

My light has NEVER came on, and I've gone as much as 8,000 miles between changes. Mobil 1 or equivalent.

Usually 6,000 miles and rotate the tires at the same time.

 

For the 05 DD I do it every 3000 with Pennzoil and for the 03 twice a year with Pennzoil (because I only put about 1000 miles on the car a year now LOL)

 

usually i have been going 7500 miles between changes on penzoil platinum synthetic. i pull the valve covers and cut open the filter after every change and everything looks great. no gunky buildup at all, and the oil is still a nice amber color.

next oil change i'm thinking of switching over to Q horsepower synthetic since it's a few buck cheaper and i've heard good things about it.
