Question O2 sensor

Hey guys I need some help. I have a 2001 monte ss 3800. I live in fl so no emission tests. I had a clogged cat so I cut it out now bank 1 o2 sensor shows bad I know it's not bad. I know it's cus I put a straight pipe in. I want to know can i reprogram the CPU so that it it dose not read bad?

Yes you have to tune out the p0420 code from the pcm.

Most w-body vendors can do this. The_Maniac (Jason) also can help members with this.

To "tune out" the P0420 you need to have a device to reprogram the PCM. This is NOT a scan tool. The most common devices are a HPTuner and DHP PowrTuner. DHP is out of business and an HPTuner is rather pricy for just deleting a code.

There are tons of companies that will delete that code (and if you want, re-tune the PCM). None of these companies do it for less then $100.

I have a DHP PowrTuner and a device to allow me to use it with a PCM on a bench (so I can re-program a PCM in or out of the car).
