Default New Supercharger/Rebuild

For anyone that knows my history I am looking to to get a new supercharger or rebuild it.(if you don't know history read the thread titled The End) So far the guys from 3800performance are good because they will take mine and port it and rebuild it totally since I already have ZZP pulley on it. And thats about $700. So my question to you is, is this a good deal? Or does anyone have other options? ( No I dont want to switch to turbo. lol.)

You could probably get one off ebay for like 300 bucks... either that or get a gen V...

I looked on ebay and they are all used. I want it to be like new. Thats why I would do the rebuild/port work to it. I was just seeing if any other places or options that do that.

I'm sure ZZP does that stuff but they'll want a core... check zzperformance.com and wbodystore.com just to see what they have.

I'd scrap it and get a Gen V, used, that'd still be better than a ported Gen 3

Yea I may go that route just was trying to not have to change anything in the computer really but that may just end up being the better choice.

$700 for any kind of M90 is crazy IMO. Just looking at prices on cgp- I saw gen Vs for $275 shipped just on the first couple pages- I would bet gen IIIs are even cheaper than that.

As far as wanting it 'like new', there really isn't anything that goes bad on the SC's. As long as the coating is good on the rotors- throw a fresh $30 coupler in it, and a fresh bottle of oil and just run it- it isn't like failed M90s are common by any means.

I also saw a few superchargers m90 blowers on craiglist for around 300 but don't know how to tell if they are in good condition. also, by going with the gen v, what else is needed besides what bumpin already mentioned? maybe a new TB and just the gaskets followed by a tune?

Biggest thing to look at is the coating on the rotors. The couplers are known for going out, but its a super cheap and easy fix. Other than that, there isn't much that normally goes bad on them.

Talking about SC prices- there is a 130k mile gen 3 on cgp now for $60 shipped. Crazy how much prices have dropped over the years...
