I just recently started hearing a noise coming from under the hood as i was driving to work today. I thought it was just the fan hitting the plasting around it. I opened the hood and the noise was actually coming from under the valve cover on the drivers side has any one had this problem before and know what it might be any info would help thanks.

 

Sounds like it could be a lifter but not sure there are many various sounds that it could be. Was it a random hitting sound or was it in rythem with the engine?

 

Welcome to the site. Please post some more info, also how did the noise affect the performance of the engine. Maybe you could post a video with it running so we can here it
