Default Need help finding temperature switch/sender for 95 MCZ34.

I would like to know if we have a temp sensor besides the coolant temp sensor that would turn on the electrical fans, also where are the ground connections for the fans, I am not that good in the electrical dept. I wanted to know if there is a cooling fan switch that I can replace. I am desperate for help, I can do it myself with a little information. Please[&o]

Don't have much knowledge on that year, but I would check a Haynes Manual at your local auto parts shop.

Here is a link if you would like to just add a manual fan switch as well.

the computer controls the fans. and they only react to coolent temp. the sensor is in the lower intake manifold. if you fans are not turning on or off. first check fueses then look at the wiring. with a car that old you should check the ground for the fans. Yes its not easy. you will have to remove the wire loom around each of the fan wires and trace it. but if its not a wiring prob then i'd guess its the temp sensor or a PCM (computer) problem. if your temp gauge in the caris working then i would say your coolent sensor is working.

do you have a colder Tstat in the car then factory? have you flushed the system lately? fan 1 should kick on about 1/3 the way thru the temp gauge and fan two should start just past half way on the gauge unless you have the AC on... then fan 2 should be on early.

-I did flush the system last year that is when the problem started, say about a couple months after the flush. the gauge in my car works so it is not a temp sensor problem, I will trace it throught the wiring see if that is where the problem lies. I have never changed the t-stat.

it would be a good idea to change it then... but the Tstat is not the problem.
