Need engine id help
I recently came into possesion of a 2004 Monte carlo SS w/o supercharger. I refuse to leave it in stock condition. My problem is that when I look for parts there are 2 engines listed (L36 or L67). How do I figure out which one I have? Any help would pe greatly appreciated.

What are your horsepower goals? Staying NA (no supercharger or turbo) is a tough road, and thebest you'll see are mid 14sin the quarter, unless you strip 500 pounds off the car.
If your goals are gaining 40HP or more, you can spend less money, and just go straight for a full L67 swap, or a L67 top swap. If you want more info on that, let me know, send a PM, or post up.

na you should be able to hit low 14;s NA but it will cost more then a decent SC'er swap that will get you into 13's with mods. bellow 13's its not that easy and will take a lot of tuning and mods to do it safely
if your making the car for a better balance of handling and power a well built up NA motor is great. but for straight line the SC is a good call.
