Default A mysterious fuel smell

Hey,
I have a 05 monte carlo ls with the 3400 engine. recently i've noticed a fuel smell most of the time when i'm getting off the highway and am on a decline. i didn't think much of it until a cople of days ago. i tried to see or smell where it was coming from and couldn't. Has anyone had this same problem of have any idea what it might be. (nocheck engine light or anything.)

is it of rich exhaust or raw fuel?

i would check your fuel rail connectors to make sure the oring seals havent leaked... this is a common issue on the l67's not so much on your motor though.

next i would check the evap system... it purges fuel tank vapor to the intake to be burned... one of these lines could have cracked.. they start at a charchol canister at the rear of the car and move forward. hope this helps

I'd run it and look for a leak. Like, around the Fuel Filter where it plugs into that clip-in fitting with the O-ring. You are supposed to replace the O-ring when you do the Filter; but I know that a lot of times that O-ring is just left in there to leak!
