tune up cost

Default tune up cost

Hey guys, Im getting my car tuned up today, its a little past due. The repair shop just called me, said that parts and labor for just plugs and wires on my 01 monte comes to 350 plus tax. Hows that sound
?

Hopefully that includes injector service and fuel and air filter replacments to name a few.

For that amount, my mechanic will also throw in a radiator flush, oil change, and transmission service with the other things I mentioned above.

Depends on engine size but for the 3.8 our dealer's cost is 2.47 per plug and wire set is 36.39

Spark plugs and wires is simple to do yourself and it doesn't cost close to what a garage may charge. What other things is this repair shop going to do for $350? That is an awful lot of cash for any type of tune up.

90.00 2 hours =180.00 Dealer price... Tune up time is 2 hours.They did a scan road test and idle test. That is why 2 hours. If you do it right you check the pcm driving and idle, even if no codes are present you need to know what temp fans comes on trans shifting and among other things to do with vehicle performance.
40.00 wires.
15.00 plugs
43.00 oil+filter
60.00 rotate and balance tires
14.00Air filter
This equals to 352.00 dollars. This was the last time i had my vehicle in January.
I just broke it down to the nearest dollar.

This is just me...
