Default mpg help

Hey,
I just joined and just bought a 2000 ss. Since I bought it ive been having serious mpg issues. Most generally city and highway driving ive been getting anywhere from 15 to 19 mpg solid highway the best was 24. Im a very lightfooted person. I changed to synthetic oil and put a new air filter. Rpms stay between 1500 to 2000 normally excluding taking off. Ive had grand prixs before with 3800, but usually got 25 to 34 mpg. This just seems shocking.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

Is your SS the supercharged one? If so, that might be normal.

Welcome to the Forum!

I believe a bit more info about your Monte will definitely help to Diagnose what may possibly be normal or what you need to do to improve it.

How many miles on it?
When was the last filter, oil change done?
When was the last time you put wires and plugs in it?
What kind of condition is the exhaust in? (cat)
What condition is the cooling system in (any leaks/Overheating)
Is the Check Engine Light On?
What codes if any if the light is on?

The more info you can give the better!
Thanks for joining the MCF Family!

I believe I had made a thread about this a while ago. I'm getting about 15 mpg city I rarely drive on the highway I did a full tune which included sparkpkugs and wires, fuel filter, o2 sensor recently changed fuel pressure regulator and upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. Still getying the same. I feel a bit of a transmisson problem/slip so that also could be a factor. I'm also thinking about changing the egr valve and gasket which sjould improve it hopethis helps
