i say go n/a then do a top swap or the SS kit from zzp... its cheaper on insurance, and better HP numbers with the higher compression from the l36 not to mention the better gearing in the n/a montes and n/a grand prixs. the difference from the 4t65e-hd and the non hd found in the n/a cars is the differential which isnt to hard to upgrade too

+ the passenger side axle needs to be changed for the 4t65e-HD

I had an all black '01 SS LE. I wanted to kick it up a notch, but didn't want to take it off the road to do it. That's when I bought this Intimidator SS. Now I'm up to about 315BHP.
About as far as I can go without getting serious. Needs bigger injectors and a bigger exhaust. But 315 is still 12 more than a V8, and I get better milage!
I got to say tho, the '01 got better milage, and with the 3.29 sprockets instead of the 2.93s I got in this car, off the line they feel about the same. You can't hook up 315BHP on street tires.

GET THE SUPERCHARGED ONE!

How about this.

As long as it says Monte Carlo SS, you won't be disappointed

Hey space just wanted to say that i saw this photo of your car about three years ago on dragtimes.comm before i bought my 2000ss. I still have all the info written down from that day. I was hooked and went out and bought my car. Just joined this forum today and saw this. Just wanted to say thanks!
