My temperature would "stick" sometimes. Say I park the car for 10 hours, it will start at 200F. It would only do it once a while and it wouldn't get hotter. Now it's getting worse and now reaches past* 260F. I worked on it tonight by changing the thermostat, letting the air out, and buying a new sensor. Still the same results. There is no steam, nor water bubling. Infact the Antifreeze isn't even hot enough to make tea to the Touch*. My sense is telling me it's a broken instrument? It's a 2004 SS.

Any thoughts?

Thank-you

Did you check the system's pressure? If the radiator's cap is bad it could lead to overheating/erroneous reading! Also, you may want to check the integrity of the heads/manifold gaskets for air leaks! If you're getting air in the system but no leakage anywhere, a gasket maybe allowing air in and causing the system to overheat.

It's possible that it's just a faulty gauge, it's a common problem on our 6th gens.

If nothing is mechanically wrong, it could be your gauge cluster.
