Default L67 top swap on 02 3.8 ss

I found a guy who has a wrecked gtp 10 minutes from where i live, i was just wondering what parts i need to do the complete top swap. odo. reads 78k on the gtp, my monte has 99k on it. Has anyone else done this to a 6th gen? i can get all i want off the car for 350. im basically looking for a parts list of what i will need to make it work.

Thanks!

OP: If you still get the parts pull the whole motor/ tranny/wiring harness and swap it all.

Now this would be the smart way to go, your motor would have the stronger crank, connecting rods, get the HD differential, boost gauges etc....Hell just tow the whole car home fix it and put the SS badges on it and call it The Grand Monte SS

How long it'll take depends on your skill level and experience. I know people who can pull out a 3800 and put a new one in in under 5 hours. They've done it so many times they know it like the back of their hand. If you're not very experienced then I'd count on at least a couple weeks downtime for your car unless you have a boatload of time to burn on it.

It will be by no means easy, but you can replace the whole cradle and save some time. Although you will want to keep your aluminum one from the monte.
