I wil be building a a LS3 for a 83-88 Monte Carlo SS. I am going to swap the reluctor to 24x so the knock sensors will have to be changed the the old LS1 style. Is drilling and tapping the OEM sensor location on the LS3 the best option? I have heard that the sensor can be bolted to an unused motor mount hole but not sure if it will read correctly that way.
