you do have a u-bend and its a pretty bad one too, i got the ZZP downpipe with highflow cat and ubend delete and its great, im not sure how much of an actual difference it made since i replaced the plugs coil pack and seafoamed it all around the same time, but it feels like a good 20-30 HP... although im probably wrong about that. Anyways, definitely replace your downpipe.

heres what i would do. if your doing the downpipe go ahead and do the off-road version and then redo your whole exhaust. (mufflers, pipes, if u want throw a glasspack on) my prefferance is an fwi, you don't need to shell out a few hundred for an open elemant filter and a plastic box(not dissing you trewyn). go ahead and get yourself a nice spectre kit from autozone, you'll have to make your own though but i wouldn't buy a spectre filter, get yourself a K&N. then when thats said and done get a tuned zzp pcm and then you are well along your way into turning your monte into a beast

Everything people said above is great, but its not going to get you anywhere close to 300whp. You will need to add some serious power to get there. Look on here there are plenty of supercharged builds that people have listed, that will get you what you are looking for. I would start with a 3" downpipe from ZZP, CAI either Wiz or ZZP, colder themostat, possibly colder plugs. Once you do that you could start adding real power like swaping in a Gen V M90, turbo and/or an IC. Porting your existing Gen III M90 would net you some good power too, and also adding a bigger TB. Its all about what route you want to take. Good luck! I am currently on the mission to get 300Whp out of my N/A Monte.

First, CIA (of your choice)
Headers, Exhaust, hi flo cat, Down pipe-3inch etc...
180* t stat
colder plugs
Drop pulley size...
Throttle body (depends how far you want to push it)
Higher Ratio Rocker arms and Push rods or Cam....

And get a Dyno tune, not off the shelf tune... I would go with an Intense tune, not ZZP, if you were to go off the shelf...Dyno Brian know these cars very well, and he tunes for Intense....

XP cam, ported blower, colder plugs, headers, 3.0 pulley. Since you're supercharged, you need a scanner to monitor how much KR you're getting.

Why do you prefer K&N over spectre? What's the benefit?
