Default Identifying Engine

Hi Guys, I just have bought a 79 t-top to rebuild. I have no idea which engine do I have. How can I surely identify the engine. I am in Ecuador, The vin number is:

1Z37J9B546508

also, reading a manifold part number I found this one:
gm14007400 lhk12

Which seems to be the manifold part number for 400ci engines, bue according to wikipedia the 79 monte never had this engine, and acording to the VIN this is a corvette with 350 engine.?

On the passenger front side of the engine behind the altanator right in front of the cylinder head is a pad with numbers and letters that will positively identify which engine you have. Could also use numbers on back side of the block where transmission mounts too the engine and do a google search. The vin can only tell which factory engine it was built with (odds are a 305 ) the numbers on the manifold aren't going to help much.
