Default How, How Much and Why?

Sup fellas,
My mechanic says that I need a motor mount but I didnt wanna look like a schmuck and ask what is that for, so I just agreed with him and nodded. He hasn't done it yet but what is that for and what does it help with and how much should it cost me?
Thanks

These are the rubber things that isolate the rest of the car from the vibration of the motor. They can wear prematurely due to over-aggressive driving, and depending on the mount that is worn, can be easy to replace, if they're the upper mounts, otherwise it gets a bit more difficult. I wouldn't expect to pay more than 80 $ for the mount itself and no more than 200$ in labor depending on the mechanic, and the location of the mount.
