Ok sounds good. Oh maybe it matters maybe it doesn't, when I saw the knock and the lower than normal boost, I was in 3rd. when I saw 0 knock and regular boost it was in D. does that matter? my buddy asked if my wastegate was controlled mechanically or by vacuum? anyone know? I have no clue lol

You don't have a "wastegate" per say, you have a BBV (boost bypass valve), it is on the supercharger. Know the 3 vacuum lines that come off the top of the supercharger? The bottom one goes to the BBV. It is vacuum operated, but there is a solenoid that could limit boost in certain situations... Mine limited me to 4 psi on a 3.4 pulley. Take the solenoid out, run it off vacuum if yours gives you trouble

nice! Lol is it a bad thing if it limits your boost? any way to get that removed so it pushes as much boost as possible if that's even a good idea? Lol

does removing the bbv solenoid affect the car or the performance in any negative way? what are the pros and cons to this cuz it sounds iffy running without a solenoid lol

If you remove the solenoid (bypass the vacuum lines) then you will run normal max boost for your mod level. I run ~10 psi on a 3.4 at sea level.

The solenoid limits boost when traction is lost or at high speeds IIRC.

I wish I had the money for an intercooler lol

So now I gotta go back up in pulley? I'm going to try 3.6. should I re tune after switching back to a 3.6?
Just so you know that speed daddy headers are the only thing doing much for you right now, the K&N is ok but still sucks in a good deal of hot air. 180 t stat, plugs, and wires aren't gonna do anything for knock.

does removing the solenoid affect knock at all?

I have a TBS I haven't put on, but even that I've heard does nothing. is there anything else I can add to help with knock that isn't ridiculously expense. by that I mean under 200 lol

IMO, the solenoid won't save your engine if it's going to blow up anyway. Do some research on it though.

What's a TBS? Throttle body shield?

Modded 1.9 rockers will probably get what you want. Rid of that knock. But remember, 1.9 rockers can't be used with an aftermarket cam.

throttle body spacer. and yea I suppose you're right ill have to Google it haha

I've thought about the 1.9s but rather go with a cam. just trying to save up for it. I was thinking maybe high velocity throttle body? gen v swap? would that get rid of knock?

Throttle body upgrade did nothing for me as far as KR went. Gen V is just a bigger blower so you would have to run a 3.6 or even a 3.8 pulley on it.
