The chips that advertise 150 HP and 50 MPG most of the time are a load of crap. The chip they send you won't help you one bit. Some of them actually perform worse than stock.

People spend a ton of money to gain that kind of horsepower. Superchargers, turbos, intake systems, exhaust systems, NOS, performance ignition systems, pulleys, etc...

Ifpeople could simply take a car that makes 250 horsepower stock, and make it 400 HP with just a chip change, there wouldn't be anybody buying the stuff I mentioned in the last sentence.

There are legitimate chips and PCM tuners out there, but they're not going to guarantee gains like that.

Re-flashed Powertrain Control Module.

You either take yours out and send it in to have it re-flashed and it will be sent back to you ... or, you trade yours for one already done and hand-over your PCM as a core deposit.

One thing I think you guys are missing is he has a 95 LS, which would have that BS obd "1.5" pcm, which means any tuning he has is going to be pretty different from the obd2 guys on here. I dunno if anyone even sells retuned chips for them (I thought they used a chip, but I could be wrong).
