Default Head gasket blown after 40,000

so here it is...i was driving my car one day and noticed some fluid under the car when i parked it the next morning. It looked like power steering fluid but after cheeking all the lines and the pump i couldnt find the leak. I then saw a small wet spot near the head of the engine and then checked my coolant and figured out it was low. Thankfully it was covered by chevy and was fixed for free....has anyone else had this prob at 40,000 miles...wanted to know if this was a manufactured prob or what.

Pretty unusual from what I remember. But about anything is possible with a GM.
Maybe someone else has had that problem.

I only know of one other member on here with the 3.9L engine that had a head gasket issue. I think it was myfirstbowtie...

Otherwise, its not very common on the 3.5/3.9L's, but I guess it still happens once in a while.

I have almost 92,000 miles on my 3.5L, and haven't had any issues with gaskets.
